The event, promoted by Gruppo Villa Maria, with the scientific coordination of Prof. Luigi Tavazzi, will take place in Bologna (ITALY) on  June 18th – 19th, 2012.

More than 500 experts coming from all over the world will take part in it. Within the broad framework of diabetic foot management, the conference will particularly focus on the diagnosis and treatment of Charcot neuroarthropathy.

This disease is probably one of the most severe and disabling features of the diabetic foot syndrome and involves a high likelihood of amputation.

Comprehensive coverage of the diagnosis and treatment of this disease requires that a large number of issues is taken into consideration, with special reference to diabetology, biomechanics  vascular surgery, infectious disease, orthopaedic surgery and reconstructive surgery.

In addition, proper evaluation of Charcot neuroarthopathy patients requires an accurate cardiovascular assessment since cardiac comorbidity is very frequent in this population.

The faculty will include the world’s opinion leaders in this field.
